The Madden Firm

Samuel P. Madden is the founder and managing attorney of The Madden Firm, his legal practice started after years of practicing entertainment law at a firm in downtown Manhattan. Prior to that, Mr. Madden worked for three years at one of the nation's preeminent plaintiff's litigation firms, where he represented approximately three hundred 9/11 first responders - primarily, police officers, firefighters, and construction workers - who were injured as a result of their heroic efforts at the World Trade Center.

Mr. Madden's career has focused on both litigation and transactional representation of clients in the art and entertainment industries - particularly music, film, and television.  

Mr. Madden earned his Juris Doctor degree from Fordham University School of Law at Lincoln Center in New York City.  While at Fordham Law, he worked for Volunteer Lawyers for the Arts, assisting artists with legal issues they had regarding their creative works.  

Sam is a present or former member of the Copyright Society of the U.S.A., the National Arts Club, the Entertainment and Sports Law Section of the New York State Bar Association, the Intellectual Property Section of the California Lawyers Association, the Fordham Law Alumni Association, and the UVM Alumni Association.

In his spare time, Sam enjoys his lifelong hobby of playing jazz and blues piano.  A native New Yorker, Sam was raised in the arts, his mother a former longtime member of the Broadway casts of Camelot and The Phantom of the Opera.
